What to Expect

These sessions are designed to be collaborative, carefully paced, and visually ambitious. They are usually slower and more involved than a standard portrait appointment, especially when body painting, styling, or elaborate setup is involved.

My goal is not to rush through a checklist of poses. The goal is to create a small number of strong finished images that feel personal, artistic, and worth keeping.

During the session

  • I will guide you through posing, expression, and small adjustments throughout the session.
  • Lighting, props, and styling may be adjusted as we work.
  • Some poses and setups take patience. That is normal.
  • If something feels physically uncomfortable, please say so. Good work does not require silent suffering.

Time and pace

Sessions vary depending on the concept. Some begin with simpler portraits to help you relax before moving into more elaborate work. Others go directly into painting, styling, or a specific visual idea.

In general, a successful session is not measured by the number of frames taken, but by the strength of the final images.

Comfort and support

If you would feel more comfortable bringing a trusted support person, please let me know in advance. I am happy to make reasonable accommodations when it helps the session feel more relaxed and safe.

If you have allergies, sensitivities, or anything that may affect your comfort during the session, please tell me ahead of time.

After the session

After the shoot, I review the images, make an initial selection, and prepare proofs for you to review. Final images are then retouched carefully rather than rushed out immediately.

Sometimes a session produces many possibilities. Sometimes it produces one image that truly stands above the rest. Either way, one remarkable image is a successful outcome.
